Went for a ride on the bike this morning. Beautiful day out, warm, sunny, can't ask for what more. On the way back, not even 1 mile away from school, the back tire of the bike blew up turning my bike into something that had the handling characteristics of a sled. Pulled over, tire looked fine but I could hear air pissing out of it. Best part was I could see the school. So I got back on the bike looked at the tire and even with my weight on it I wasn't riding on the rim. So I limped the bike back to school and parked it. Definitely one of the scariest things that happened to me on the bike by far. Even though I really don't need this right now and can't exactly afford a new tire, I actually consider myself pretty lucky. With the amount of highway riding I do, the odds of it happening when I was doing under 40mph so close to "home" really weren't on my side.
