To be honest, I think this is nonsense. Everybody knows what 4/20 is, it's perfectly acceptable to go get high IMO.

Everyone knows what it is? I'm sure if you go to a nursing home or talk to someone who just moved into the country they don't know what 4/20 is. I remember talking to people from Ukraine and Norway from my last ship about 4/20 and they all thought we were fucking stupid for making it a "holiday". EVERYONE knew St. Pattys, no one knew 4/20 except the other American on board. Everyone doesn't know about 4/20.

I really didn't express much of an opinion on it, I just stated that St. Pattys day is an accepted drunk holiday.

But, I was under the impression that getting drunk wasn't a requirement to celebrate the holiday. It's just become a socially accepted norm, which is the same thing with 4/20. If anything, I think it's actually nice that the potheads developed their own holiday.
