we have called the town 3 times in the past 2 weeks to clear out the clogged drain across the street from my house and they keep saying "thats not why your basement is flooded"

2-3 years ago when that drain was clogged my basement flooded the same way it is now, and when they cleared it the flooding stopped about 5 hours later
Didn't win, didn't lose either. When our basement backed up, it was because the town didn't drain our property (the entire neighborhood, actually). They ran a drainage ditch to the center of the neighborhood but haven't been out to clean it out in 23 years. So all the rainwater backed up from the drain in our basement. The worst point, he had about a foot. It ruined our washer machine, 3-4 air conditioners, and a lot of sentimenal iteams my dad had from when we had our champion frisbee dog (sounds corny, but he had a lot of stuff).

He ened up summonsing the town engineer to testify that it wasn't drained properly and suing the town for like 2,000. He tried to settle out of court by explaining his case to the town hall, but they wouldn't work with him at all. When we went to court they ended up saying he didn't have enough evidence. He addmittedly said he wasn't 100% prepared, but he was working with all he had available to him. They ened up writing him a check for 1000$ for the damages.

eastern CT is fucked, cars getting stuck in the rain, roads with rivers going accross them, all the dams are rroaring rapids... A town field (sterling) that has a play ground and stuff which is like 10ft below the rivers edge normally is now a pond with water everywhere. The parking lot (Franko's) in plainfield is like 2ft of water with a rapid water crossing route 12 (major road). I pulled into the parking lot and a dodge truck was pulling out a s10 which i think tried making it through till his engine went . I drove through it and headed around a few other towns. The waterfall at Glasgo pond was pouring insane amount of water over it and the house on the other side was under water.

              Pic's will be added later

also seen Corey in the manche, looked like he was going out to play too
