is the durango box a direct bolt in for a xj?

yes. give or take a hole or two extra

should be same, according to a quick lookup on napa online the hose fittings, bolt setup, spline shaft and pitman shaft splines are same. The main difference the durango power steering box is its a little beefier over stock TJ (slightly larger also) and has a tighter lock to lock (turn steering wheel less). my box was shot and leaking roughly 1qt of power steering every few days (puddles) so I replaced it today.

well they can be had for as little as 20 bucks. depends who you talk to at the yard. I have walked off with a brandy newish full borla exhaust for my xj for 30 bucks from NM junkyard
