          this seems to have become popular with the V-Dub kids... three of the people i know with vw's did this. teh ghey, IMHO.

                it all started when the vdub children wanted a wider stance. but they kept getting pulled over when thier tire tread stuck out past the flares

                so lets just have the rims stick out a couple inches and stretch that shit.

                but they do hold the bead well and they do run normal(ish) tire pressures
