I use the term 'NEW' extremely loosely. I can safely assume that this gun was Manufactured between 1906 and 1915. It seems that Marlin decided to simply discard their records of firearm manufacture dates of the M1893 after the year of 1906 (when the serial ranged ended at 355XXX, my serial number range is 396XXX). So, I'll just have to assume it was made in the mid nineteen-teens or earlier.
I've only been waiting for this thing to arrive at my door since before I made the trip to California to watch KOH and it finally arrived. It really isn't much to look at unless you are a Marlin fanatic like me, but it is an excellent firearm and it still locks up just like a new Marlin. The sights fucking suck on it. The guy I purchased it from thought it would be cool to put them on while I find his choice in sights poor and distasteful to say the least. I will be changing them to a more classic system, single post front and barrel mounted rear.
I do plan on restoring this completely, I figure, if this Damn thing lasted this long, I can make it last another 100 years.
