Zune to Ipod?

Is anyone here familiar with Zunes and their software? My Zune died on me today after getting hit with water, and now im in the market for a Itouch

When i bought my Zune, i couldn't just transfer my songs over from itunes to Zune's software, but i've hear zune is not confined to it's songs? Can i Transfer songs from the current software back to itunes without having to use a ripper?

yes, files are just stored on your computer, in itunes just add that folder to your library
