as for highway driving, pure off-road tires ive driven mine over 20 miles doing 70mph many times, pick a hard terrain tire and it wont heat up much at all on the street. the main thing to remember with non-dot tires is braking on the road is reduced (not as much tread in contact with pavement) and steering for the same reason.
