I was reading some of the threads on Pirate, and someone claimed Jason Scherer hit 135 and Shannon was up around 115 at one of the high speed sections. I'm not sure how realistic 135mph in an Ultra4 race buggy is, but I'm sure they were hauling ass nonetheless.

Bunch of other "run of the mill" KOH guys said they were up around 80-90mph. Sounds like a damn good time

Yeah, I have to give that Marlin Crawler rig some serious credit. We saw that burn by too after Cambell's rig, and when we got back to the main area, I found out that it was Leaf Sprung at all 4 corners. I was pretty stoked to see it at the finish line, to say the least. Definitely put some things in perspective for me. Yeah, other guys blatantly kicked his ass, but the dude crossed the finish line in a timely manner (before sundown) and I personally congratulated them.


Another rig rolled on the desert section past Aftersock (mile marker 50) and caught fire. Luckily there was one guy there who cut the driver free and saved his life. The rig burnt to the ground and the guy was evacuated out of there. It was a pretty intense situation, and the guy who saved the drivers life received a set of BFG tires for free, though his selflessness will never have a price.

Regardless it was an intense race no matter how you look at it.

Thats what I thought about IN and OUT. The whole time I was stationed in cali thats all everyone talked about... then I went and was seriously disappointed. Not saying some people dont like it or they obviously wouldnt be in business.

Phil I will say I have hated snow with this passion once in my life... When we flew back from Iraq with the 110+ temps and landed in Pittsburg to like -10 and piles of snow I cursed the gods.

The whole trip was so epic and full of so much win! Wait till the video comes out, when Team 008 rolled coming down Backdoor, Josh and I helped roll it back over, we saw Jessi Combs-ohh hotness! In-Out Burger-delicious! So many badass rigs, so many laughs! Good times, good times! Counting down the days till next year!

I was sitting at sledgehammer, up pulled the 4407 MFS rig. And he was in the passenger seat, i dont really know! haha

i know the rig finished with Bob Roggie at the helm, and i spent a good hour+ talking with him (bellydoc) before race day, nice guy.
