MP3 CDs. ATTN: Linux/Ubuntu users.

I use Linux on my computer (Ubuntu) Not windows or mac. I have been trying to make some MP3 CDs for my car since i ditched the aftermarket stereo and put my stock 6 disc mp3 unit back in. I have two programs on my PC that i use. Braseo Disc Burner and K3b.

Every time i make one i put a few albums on the cd and make it as a Data CD. The program says it burns fine and i try it and every time i go to play it in my cd player it will only play one of the files. It will see all the files i put on it but once i select a file it just keeps playing the original file. WTF?

Yes, it says right on it MP3 and it says searching for data files once i put the CD in. It just only plays one of the files no matter what file i choose.

i have never had that problem, but then again i use the Zune Software

uhhhh idk it should just work. what format are the files in? mp3? wav? wmv? and your 100% sure the player plays data discs? what kinda cd are you using? cheap brand CDRWs might not work... or cd-r might work but cd/r not...

Yes, I am sure that its a Data ready Head unit. it says it right in the owners manual. Like i said, my friend made me an MP3 CD with over 80 files on it and it works fine.
I think its the process of making the CD thats the issue.

its just that simple though.. burn a data cd and thats it. try using amarok i think that has a burner utility.

Your program isn't finalizing the disc, so it can only read the first bit of data. Check the settings in your software and make sure you have the proper drivers for your burner in ubuntu.

If you can't figure that out - googles it.
