depends on what you plan on using it for....

like in sam's case, having his 2 door, mildly built, that he can drive around and wheel whenever or whereever he wants would be ideal.

Then assuming he has some will to continue competing, a buggy would really be built for the sole purpose of towing to either a wheeling location or competition and enjoying it there.

if thats what the purpose of the buggy would be, then assumably it would be pretty fun

No. that only reeks of minor stupidity.

Me and RJ are only simply saying that it just makes more sense to take it and use it to start building something more lasting than another xj that will be dead in 1 or 2 more wheeling seasons.

and as for pockets, with all the money spent on 3 xjs, building them, parts for them, broken parts, misc steel to fix them, i'm sure that he could be pretty far into a buggy build at this point.

And why invest more in another xj, when the smarter move would be investing time and money into a rig that will last??

In all honesty, I think a built TJ or linked YJ would be a better option than another XJ.

If I had to do it over again, I probably would have done that.

Edit: As long as he isn't looking for something to daily drive.

but then he would not have wheeled at all in the last 5 years. all of his money would have been in a tube buggy that is sitting in a garage. I'm all for building a sweet lasting project like a buggy, but not when you are under a tight financial situation like most of us have. If you can afford it sure, but buggies are fawkin expensive. Also, it's not like that axle will go bad. He could use it in the future
