  • My night....

First off id like to say a big FUCK YOU to the year 2009. I have had NOTHING but BAD FUCKING LUCK all year. I cant wait for this fucking year to be done and gone.

So I had to drive back to VA last night. Its 550 miles from my house in Griswold. Driving at night time is good, NO traffic, I can easily do it in 8 hours doing 75ish the whole way there... My buddy I work with was also driving back down with me. I had to work this morning so we were in agreement that I would drive till roughly 9 oclock, and then I was going to bed so I could get atleast 6 hours of sleep before I had to go back to work.. Cool...

So the GPS say we will be back at 1:50... everything is going smoothly, I make it to the Vince Lambardi Rest station on the NJTP and pop 3 tylonol PMs so i could sleep in the car. Everything is going good, I drive for another hour and wait for these pills to kick in.

15 minutes later, my "Check Gauges" light comes on.. Oil pressure good, water temp good, gas good, voltage seemed good....

Well my lights start to get dimmer and dimmer, and the gauge is slowly dropping.... I milked it out as far as I could and AS i am PULLING INTO the damn service station the car dies... Well, atleast I made it off the highway. I take the battery out, and get raped on purchasing a new one (124 bucks for a new one )... I have AAA ( got it for xmas) and I called them up. They are banned from going on the NJTP ( who the fuck knows why), and all they could have done for me is tow me 100 miles one way, or come deliver me batteries and charge me for em, both of which would be inconvenient and I would have to wait for , I was on a tight schedule to be back to work for 7 am or I would be considered AWOL. SO fuck it, ill just buy batteries from walmart and just keep going back to exchange them for a new battery when the next set died...

My buddy takes of the driving, and I take quick naps but I really cant sleep because im trying to monitor the situation and figure out a plan. We end up making it to Aberdeen MD and pull off and find a walmart. Good thing the town was dead and all well lit roads because we had to turn off our headlights for the last 2 miles or we werent gonna make it ... The car died in the parking lot. So we buy two everstart batteries and go on our merry way. I think we made it to about Fredricksburg VA before it started dieing again, so we pulled off to go to a walmart, just our luck, it was closed. So we killed the lights again and drove another 15 minutes and found a 24/7 walmart...

Go in, was hoping to exchange the dead batteries for two new fresh ones, but they wouldn't let me because the automotive department wasn't open. So I spent another 120 bucks to buy two more brand new batteries and just barely made it home at 6am this morning... Fuck.

So, if I charge those walmart batteries back up, think they will let me return them?

Oh, and I havent been to sleep in over 30 hours... easily top 2 worst day I have all year....

Also had no flashlights or anything in the car and was such a bitch changing out batteries in the freezing cold using a letherman to loosen / tighten bolts with 18 wheelers wizzing by 2 feet away

as long as the batteries have a warrenty date, like a two year battery, just say they aren't up to ur standards or some bs like that

i've heard stories where walmart doesn't even care or check, so you definitely should be good with returning them

I paid 500$ to have my bike towed from the middle of VT to the middle of NH, plus the cost of a battery this summer. Shit fucking sucks. At least you were near wal marts and stuff. I pushed my bike about a mile (which is a LOT longer when you are pushing a 600 lb bike) until the first car came by, which I had to flag down and hitch hike back to the lake house.

Battery was 100% dead as a doornail. I started it off my car battery to get it going. It ran off what little power was left to get me out in the middle of no where and then completely died.
