4 door JKs are super soccer mom vehicles. I have a customer that has a rescue green rubicon because his driveway gets muddy and they don't low it often in the winter He'll probably be one of those people who replaces the tires with passenger car ones

I would love me a new 2 door!

Will, i agree....SOME with the right mods look pretty good IMO, but the stock numbers are what impress me (minus the gay ass 3.8 they decided to use instead of the 4.0) That red one looks sick, and it doesnt take much to get it there either. Since i'm looking for something a little more street friendly, i wouldnt go that extreme but a nice little 3" and 33's would be nice.
AAANNNYYWWAAYYYSS, thanks for the info on the 97 D44 fronts, i'll look into it before i buy.

i'm pretty sure you can run 35's on 3 inches of lift on a jk without trimming anything.

i'm most likely buying a 2 door jk in the upcoming months. stock 44 rear. lifts are cheap in comparison to other newer trucks. 2 1/2" gets you 37's without trimming anything. jk 30's can gear deep to 5.38's. a good thing? i dunno, haven't heard much breakage tho. and they look badass lifted. and a simple intake/exhaust/throttle body mod gets you another 53lb/ft torque, no gimmick, dyno proven.

                    thats what i'm shootin for

I've been told you can run 35's on a BB.

I would wheel the piss out of a modded JK with an AEV Hemi conversion

ive driven one quite a bit.... and i HATE that 3.8, the throttle feels horrible and has no response.... i HATE the seats, they forgot to ad a little comfort to the design especially the head rest... on the other hand they are pretty good all around... i think i averaged 23 mph going down to NC once... they are fun in the summer when driving 1000 miles.... lots of cool aftermarket parts and gadgets...

i dont think the seats are uncomfy the headrest looks strange but my moms subaru is THE most uncomfortable thing ever...maybe im just used to that so this doesnt seem bad

If i end up being able to swing this, i might be able to KEEP the XJ and park it in the yard til i can finish building it so i can actually wheel with you guys. On the other hand, my whole logic between this search (originally considered the newer Taco TRD) was b/c i wanted something a little more street friendly, i've been doing a lot of driving and i think we can agree an old XJ is not all that comfortable. I'm going down to drive one this evening so i'll see how the ride feels. In regards to tire size, i didnt want to end up having to re gear b/c then i'd end spending more than i want like always, so i'm trying to keep it close to the stock 32's, the 33's would look good on a 2" BB (spacers) and i would be able to keep the stock ride quality. If i recall, 33's already technically call for 4.56's. Thanks for all the replies...keep em coming, i agree w/ you guys about the looks growing on me though, i remember when they first came out back in '07, used to hate them and ripped on jeep all the time for how ugly their jeeps were getting. BUT like everyone is saying, this particular model is growing on me. Sounds like it would be pretty good on the trails near stock anyways right?

These were a couple JK's I wheeled with down in South Jersey. The black rubicon is a BB and 35" KM2's and the silver and green ones I think is a 4" and 35's
