Another piece of HMC Camera Move Hardware™

This one full credit essentially goes to Phil, all I did on this go around was come up with the idea for the project and money, he did most/all the grunt work in the shop.

    So a big to him.

Total cost: $24.00 USD, and a few hours of our time. Used the tripod head off my Manfrotto pod..

Short video I made of the time making it: http://vimeo.com/8189698

..And it was said. The base isn't stable if you use that handle. We were originally going to mount the camera directly to the base on the rails, but figured that the movement from the tripod head would be awesome, so we added it on, not taking into account the new center of gravity.

Because of the higher center of gravity, all movement must be done by holding the base. You set up the angle, etc and then the rail gives you a smooth, track like motion in smaller spaces. It works fucking awesome - if you know what the fuck you're doing.

You should never leave that camera unattended anyway. A clamp will just hinder movement. When you're done with the camera, you take it off the rail.

thats what we built this for

the slide we built essentially picks up where the dolly cant go, aka smaller tight spaces...itll be used a lot more in real estate and shops

plus its transportable by my Impreza unlike the dolly.
