i have that 454 i have on craigslist and i got an email from this guy named walter gate. he first emailed me asking "is the item still available?". i replyed with a "yea come pick it up today!". he sent me an email 3 minutes after i sent him that saying this . . . "I appreciate your response to my inquiry.I have seen the picture and I
am interested in buying the item and i am ok with the description and condition and i am also satisfied with the price.I would have love to come and check
it myself but am not chanced now,because I just got married and am
presently on honeymoon trip to Hawaii with my wife and Pls do
withdraw the item from the website with immediate effect,as i don't
mind adding $50 for you to do that for me, so i can be rest assured
that the item is held for me,I will be making the payment to you via a
Certified Check in us dollars which my secretary in the state will
mail across to you and as for the pick up, i will know how to handle
that with my mover that as been helping me to move the item will
come for the pick up once the Certified
Check has been cashed and i will like to complete this transaction
before Tuesday the 26th of Febuary 09. If this arrangement is ok by
you kindly send me both your name and full address to post the payment
immediately and i would appreciate you include your phone#,i.e....
(1)..Your full name ,
(2)..Your full home address or your office address,
(3)..your zip code ,
(4)...your phone number to contact you
and please i don't want a P.O BOX address because i want the payment
to get to you at your house or your office address to make the

that message just seems a little fishy to me. i'm just not feeling comfortable giving this guy my home address where my family lives for some reason. he also sent me an email about another motor i have on cl asking if i was the same guy with the 454. but i'm still kinda gettin a funny feeling.

haha i figured it was a scam. but it was just weird because the same guy sent me normal emails too. it wasn't just a random one. and its only a couple hundred bucks

Yeah I think they actually have sample emails just like that on craigslist. Someone tried to do that when I sold my integra.

You cash the check, they get the item, bank lets you know after it was a bad check, you gotta pay bank back, you're screwed.

i told him to gimme a call and let me know who he is before i give him my info last night. today i got a voicemail from some guy with a weird area code who spoke horrible english saying he wants the motor. i wonder if its the same guy. i haven't called back yet

told the guy call me before i sent my information and i got this today as a response

"Im so sorry i have not been able to call you so i really don't wanna
distract my honeymoon but if you insist i call u before you send me
your infos, i'll tryto do that as early as possible but if you don't
hear from me in a while pls you can still send the infos as i will
call you later.

i've never had a scammer this persistent. maybe he's legit . . . maybe i just have high hopes because i need this money for spring break

he also replied about my other auction saying he's interested in that motor too . . .
