  • laptop compooder help

ok i fire it up today and the screen is all flashing on and off from power saver to power mode.

i hover over the little picture of the plug and i have 6% powa remaining

and it says "plugged in, not charging"

    i googled this phrase

and it can be either faulty battery/charger

    vista problem

    or fonculoed motherboard

well now the problem is i cant turn it on to try to figure out

    stone dead

i press buttons on the battery and none of those leds light up.

    WHAT DO I DO WAH

oh its like a 3 year old gateway best buy special edition with vista

take out the battree. plug it in. see if works. if no work, your power supply is pewp.

      pewper supply

it no work when i do that

now what narrows it down to that?

i know you are smurter in compoodas than me, but like what if i tapped the power input jack the wrong way and snapped a solder? or if its a vista probeem?

check voltage on the plug. it will say what it should be putting out on the bottom. usually like 19ish volts.

is the powerplug loose where you plug in? have you tripped over the coard? solider points inside can loosen up.

i suppose it is possible for one of the points to fail before the rest. this possibly would give you the indication of plugged in but not charging. this is a common failure, i get maybe 1-2 of these per month at work. you can tear down and resolder the jack. or get a new jack. site i used to use is http://www.laptopjacks.com/

rip it apart and give it a shot, youve got nothing left to lose.
