WJ transfer case swap?

I found an NP242 for 100 bucks from an 04 WJ with only 80000 on it. I really would like having the 2wd option in my grand cherokee. Mine came with the limited option of the quadra-drive transfer case which is suppose to be the smartest one and hardest to find but I really don't care for 4 wheel all time. Anybody give me any words of wisdom about the 242?

If its similiar to an XJ I believe the swap is pretty much bolt in.

As far as i know, the quadra drive offers a RWD bias unless otherwise needed....

I dont see why it would not work but i can also bet there are reasons why it wont work. I would go on JeepsUnlimited. The Grand Cherokee section over there is very helpful.

its a bolt in swap, just make sure you get a 242HD if you have a V8 otherwise the input shafts wont mate up
