      Yes, mine have a little bit of play, maybe 1/4 " in both directions.

      Have been like that for years.

            No, play in driveshaft with wheels on ground = play in gears. Maybe a little bit of rotation but barely enough to question it.

                      LOL doug's did on the Merritt once. He just gave it gas, the driveshaft spun, but the jeep went NOWHERE.
