Yes, mine have a little bit of play, maybe 1/4 " in both directions.

Have been like that for years.

I kinda took it as this question wouldn't have been asked unless there was a noticeably large amount of movement. There is probably about a 1/4" of movement like phil said.

LOL doug's did on the Merritt once. He just gave it gas, the driveshaft spun, but the jeep went NOWHERE.
