  • Cell phones while driving

now I'm guilty of this, but when im on the phone while driving it's only when i feel comfortable. no busy intersections or congested highway.

when i ran over that girl when i was on the boggers. she was yakkin on her cell phone as i hit her and she continued talking on her phone when she got out of the car and screamed "OH MY GOD THIS GUY FUCKING HIT ME" maybe if you didn't decide to pull out and stop in front of a jeep doing 50 mph on the highway you wouldnt have gotten hit dumb bitch.

while working at this service station on a busy intersection, both accidents i have witnessed had the driver at fault yakkin on their phone, and both times they took their time to say goodbye to the person they were talking to.

and of course while driving theres those people who talk on their phones in traffic and decide using their turn signal or looking where they are going takes too much effort and they just do as they please.

    whats everyones take on this?

    any stories?

i know handheld cellular devices are illegal in ct while driving, but that doesn't stop anyone.

personally if im on my phone i always use speaker, but regardless, you're still not completely focusing on the road...i neverrrr talk on it if i'm in a busy area and if i don't feel comfortable enough ill hang up with whoever it is and call them when i'm home/wherever i'm going...

i do it, and it def takes attention away from the road and ive had a few times where i wasnt paying attention and there was a red light and i had to lock up my brakes and i slid into the intersection, lucky for me nobody was coming , it was around 3 am. Regardless, its dangerous and i try not to do it when the roads are busy

I talk on the phone and drive if my parents call me, or if its my buddy and I'm on my way to his house and I'm letting him know to come out. I don't drive around yapping away with my girl while I drive. I put driving before my conversation, which sometimes annoys people because I'll just stop talking sometimes to think about what I'm about to do.

Texting and driving however, Is a lot harder. I have an iPhone and its not easy to text and drive with that thing.

I dont understand why people cant seem to drive and talk at the same time. Knock on wood, ive never had any issues concentrating on driving and talking on the phone. But because it is becoming illegal in many places i use a hands free now.

I got a new CD player that came with blue tooth built in so my calls are heard through the speakers and i have a small microphone by the sun visor.

I hate it though when i am stuck behind someone driving slow or like an idiot and they on the damn phone or fucking texting.

I CANT STAND THE IDEA OD TEXTING AND DRIVING!!!! that is just stupid.

i text while driving at work when i need too because i'm driving all day long. i can text cause i don't look at my phone while doing it. i do not talk on it while driving and only do it when i'm driving in the open. traffic, intersections, anytime i'm near anyone else i don't touch it

i learned to drive in new jersey therefore i am automatically better than anyone else on the road. i dont use my blinkers, i frequently change lanes and i talk all i want on the cell phone. and if anybody gives me attitude because i dont give a fuck i proudly salute them with the middle finger

I can't text while driving for my life, and I will basically refuse to do it.

As far as talking while driving, I never have problems. If it's an automatic, I drive with only my left hand anyways so it's no different. If I'm driving stick it's a pain, but I get it done. Almost 100% of the time I focus more on the road than the conversation, so if something is going on in front of me I will just stop talking and the other person is like WTF?
