Man, I could use a good purging once in a while, especially when I get metal splinters.

In your hands and shit from mill and lathe work and such? Use a neodymium magnet like one of these:

This one is plenty strong for the purpose and is only $11.35.

I guess prison tattoos have a lot of heavy metals in them, so if you go in one of those it will pull them out of your skin.

I would imagine they work themselves out of your eye somehow. If those shavings stayed in your eye socket for an eternity I would imagine you would get a mighty infection and lose your vision.

I'm pretty sure I saw a mythbusters show about that.

I'm not so sure about that one. My old boss had done landscaping for 12 years when he got cancer for the second time. He also always sharpened his own blades (except when I did it). They made a huge deal about checking his eyes for small pieces before throwing him in the MRI. They may not do damage going in but if they get sucked out they could fuck your day up.

I was just thinking if they stayed behind your eye for very long, they would start rusting and cause some problems.

But I guess if I get an MRI anytime soon I'll mention that I do some metal work, just to be safe

my friend had a bug get in his eye one night (drinking) and just went to bed with it in there. Well that little bug must've shit and pissed all in there, because the next day the whole thing was swollen, bloodshot and leaking green goo. He just delt with it for like 4 days like that. It was a constant stream of goo coming out. Then he went to the doctor and they told him it was infected. he looked like this------>
