You dont HAVE to, but running lower octane increases your chances of detonation and ruining your motor. The performance will also decrease.

Its really not that big of a difference, most Audis are around 18 gallon tanks. The price difference from 87 to 93 octane is $0.20 so for approx $3.60 more per fill up you can run a better octane and better for the car.

I bet youre wrong. They A4s are not as expensive as you think, plus it is 5 years newer than yours and WAYYY less miles. I could find the same year and miles as your car for the same price if not cheaper.

you go ahead and find an AWD 2000 A4 with the same miles/condition and less than 3700 dollars, then lemme know what it costs to maintain such a car compared to a same generation subaru

toss in the fact the 1.8A4 (which is i assume what youre pricing against me) is extremely comparable in performance to mine, maybe even slower...and not AWD. (FWD)
