      I did that.i cut the top half mostly out..reinforeced it and plated it...and it only cost me 6 bucks in steel cuz i had the crossmember laying around..its really not bad, mines taken a shit load of hits.
      98 Cherokee, D30/8.25 w/4.56s locked F/R -- 3 link front IRO springs rear with shackle relocation, one ton steering w/heims, hybrid cage under contruction, 33'' KM2's

              I still do not understand to this day why they build the skids like that. I soo no reason why it can't just go across from the frame FLAT There is an inch or TWO between the skid and t case on mine
