Don't be afraid of class 2.

              1st to 4th all had 35" tires
4th for the year Chris 824 has an XJ with stock axles a 4" lift and no suck down winches nothing special.
I think there are 2 XJs 3-4 CJs 3-4 YJs and the rest of the class are just TJs

Only a few have suck down winches I didn't have them until the second comp I don't know how much if they help or if it just make me feel more confident.
Winches are only a $100 and most of you already have a front winch.

It has a lot to do with the driver/spotter most of the Jeeps are pretty comparable built. Actually a lot of the "better" built jeeps don't always do as well.

If you have 33s run class 1,
Just pull the lunch box locker out and go back to 1 locker. That class has to be limited to 1 locker or the course would get insanely harder.
My brother ran class 1 with 30"tires 2 inch spacer and welded rear and came in 7th.
I'm sure most of your jeeps are better.

It's all about picking the right line.

The whole reason to compete is for fun there is no money in it you barely make back entrance fee and gas money.

I enjoy the competition putting my build up against the next and seeing how it compares.

Solid axle swaps are allowed as long as it still retains the stock style suspension and the frame is not altered.
How do I keep my torsionbar IFS with my Waggy D44? Does this confuse anyone else?

Simple answer is you dont. you'd prlly be better off going leaf sprung and trying to argue that leaf sprung is a hinderance in your case or just build for class 3

my big problem I guess would be my non-factory suspension. I fit class 3 pretty well except for the tire size.

I think there were guys in class 3 and maybe even 4 running 35 inch tires. Like justin said its not about tire size or your set up its how good your driver and spotter are at picking lines and planning stuff out ahead of time.

Sam and I usually picked out a line ahead of time but it usually changed once we got on the course. Sams driving style is a little crazier than most others as well. So it really isnt about who has the best built rig it's about making quick decisions and picking the best line. Justin's rig is a perfect example of this haha. Most would think a built CJ on leafs and 35s isnt supposed to beat built TJ's on 37s, but he does. It's all driver/spotter skill and experience.

97 TJ that I think is pretty neat.

but that red xj has a 4" lift?

i guess with all the stuff thats gutted from it, it gained a few inches
