Send a camera to space for 150 dollars

This is really cool . I am seriously considering trying this as a summer project just to try it out. Total cost is under 150 bucks.

Bunch of MIT kids attached a canon camera to a weather balloon and sent it into space. Had the camera take pictures every 5 seconds, and had aprepaid cell phone w/ gps tracker so when it fell back to earth they could find it. Check it out, its sweeet.

the chance you take. There are websites for launching weather balloons that predict wind and weather patterns and give you a basic trajectory to where it will land. They launched theirs from MIT and it landed it Worcester. Ive looked into it and most of them stay within 150 miles of where you launch it.
