Voluntarily Bored at work thread

I'm here at work, working on my own guns, bored out of my mind.

Ive been staring at the lathe for the past half hour. I'm cutting the OD down on an AR15 barrel and each pass takes at least 5 min. Goddamnit.

Oh well, so worth it in the end.

Fuck that. The barrel weights 3 goddamnn pounds.

I'm gonna trim it down to at least .650"

nice not bad, its deff going to be worth it in the end...you ever hear of the 10/22 sleeved barrels warping? My uncles says it's a thin steel insert inside of the synthetic outer, he claims that from having it propped up in the corner that its pulling a foot at 50yds. He says it has just been sitting...Idk i think something more had to have happened to pull like that.

If you dump enough rounds through them, yeah. Why you got the synthetic wrapped one is beyond me. I'd get the Aluminum barrels before the Carbon Fiber ones. The aluminum barrel is the same concept, large bull barrel that weighs next to nothing with a metal sleeve with the rifling glued inside the barrel.

i shoot a stock ruger 10/22 this was his hair brained scheme....It seemed that it was a bad idea from day one, but he had to have it when we went to the shop one day.....
I hunt deer with a marlin 336 chambered in 44 Mag. haha weight is not an issue, and deffinitely not on my side haha
