Try and find a fat boy for less than 10K, you wont. Its good if you own one because your bike doesn't depreciate but it sucks when you wanna buy one because regardless of used or not they are still expensive. Once you get a Harley you'll never go back to street bikes. Are you gonna wanna ride wheelies still when your 45? Or cruise down Rt. 9 to the beaches with your lady or someone elses on the back of your Harley? Harley is a lifestyle, street bikes are for young guys who have an itch to ride fast and live dangerously.
i know guys that want to go back to street bikes. hes still yung so its nice to have the option to ride a fast bike, save the harley for when your older. other bikes are lifestyle as well, its nice to ride a light good handling bike and not some pig.

i plan on getting a cruiser in the future but i'll always keep a sport bike

I feel old on my cruiser sometimes but when I look at my friends, they are working just to pay the insurance on their bikes. Mine was paid in full for 180$ at the begining of my policy, and thats without having taken the safety class. I would love to haul ass around on a crotch rocket, but none of my buddies ever make trips longer than 20 minutes on them. I can take my bike with a backpack, ride for 6 hours and then go to a B&B up north.

I can't say its more my style because its the first bike I've ridden. I wish I had the money to own both but until later in life, I'll be rockin a cruiser as my bike.

Oh and for what its worth my buddy has an 05 Fatboy with the V&H swept back pipes and they are louder than holy hell. Even with baffles, you will still be "that guy". They are numbingly loud.

My dad's 47 and he rips down the highway side by side with me at 120. I think if you like speed, you like speed.

All my friends are the same too, they have 01-03 gixxers or hondas and they can hardley afford them and don't have car payments. But they all think harleys are badass, but I look better on one. lol

And my dad has the V&H true duels, they're loud, but the big radius (ones on the fatboy) are def louder, they echo right off the ground. Also, I already am "that guy" around where I am.lol

12,700. It's at a dealer, so I could finance it right through them.

This is the situation i have as far as payments.

My bike, the loan I have it a past loan that I just kept adding too, jeep parts, my rear axle, all that shit was on this loan, my payments are 225/mnth. Insurance is 20 bucks/mnth, just liabilty.

The fat boy. Well, my dad put 10 down, and finance 12 for his bike. His payments are 190/mnth. So i'm guessing my payments are going to be about the same cause i'll probably have my girl cosign and she has an 800 credit. So i'll be at -35 a month with this bike.
Insurance, since i'm going to finance i'll have to have full coverage. It's going to be 1050/year aka 87.5/mnth.

So +67.50 a month - the 35 = 32.50/month to drive this fatboy, which is sweet.

If your gonna put 10 down why not just kick in the extra $2,700 + taxes, title, and registration and own the thing outright? One of the better things about Harley's I might add over street bikes is they are heavy as shit so they don't get stolen as often.

Just to give you some quick stats as well my buddy just bought an 09 Fat boy and put $1,500 down on it. He had them throw some pipes on it too. His payment is like $390 a month. Just in case you decided to go new vs. used. I also heard a commercial on 106.9 this morning that they are doing demo rides for the new Harley's at Yankee Harley Davidson on Rte. 6 in Bristol this weekend.

Nooo, I was explaining that my dad just bought a new harleyfor 22, put 10 down and financed 12. Since this fatboy is 12,7 I was comparing. Guessing that my payments would be around the same as his, 190/month.

i voted B. they are both equaly as cool, i think a girl will feel more comfortable on the back of a more traditional style bike and you are less liekly to hurt yourself due to the more layed back nature of that type of bike. i know if i had a street bike id prolly be the asshole everyone sees doing 160 in and out of traffic in the highway and wheelieing past cops at traffic lights.
