  • So apparently refrigerant isn`t good for you

Well I found that out two days ago trying to find a refrigeration leak. I had to manually defrost a 20X8 freezer by hand with a heat gun so I can get in there with the sniffer to find the leak. I thought it was vented well but I guess I was wrong because I was breathing in R-404a for about 4 hours. I spent the rest of the night high as a kite and sick as a dog.

LOL noob, you never use a heat gun to defrost an evap. That takes forever. Get a pump up sprayer and fill it with hot water. It cuts through like a knife.

P.S. please tell me you had the door open? Where was it leaking? Flare at the TXV cracked?

That would be the smart thing to do but the drain lines from the refer rooms were clogged to begin with. I spent the next two days snaking them out which I should have done first but the leak in the line was had to get fixed pronto since it was venting to atmosphere. And, yes, I know thats not leagal but its a different case if its a leak. I`m not sitting around dumping tanks of R-404
