GTAIII. Your character was nameless and didn't have a personality. You were, at all times, a cold, heartless, no shit talking, all doing, criminal.
The moment the gave the main character a name and a personality, it ruined it for me.
I also had it for the PC, which made aiming easier and you could download skins for the main character and stuff.Last edited by Buffalo Phil; 06-09-2009, 11:14 PM.sigpic

The point of GTA is freedom to do whatever the fuck you want, and it seems that once they set an overall theme, the freedoms diminish.sigpic

Vice City still had a little "III" esque feel to it though, just a different setting.
I haven't played IV enough yet, but the gameplay/graphics is much better so far.

Got bored with it fast.
What i meant is it's much more realistic. The way the cars handled in the old ones was like a hot wheels game
I gotta vote Vice City.

GTA III was undoubtedly my favorite. Phil described it to a tee. I like that you just did the missions without having a back story to the character and it was the only one that I religiously played. I hated how San Andreas was so thuggish. I remember when it came out, my friend made a joke that it would be fitting to have a lowrider hydraulics contest and then it was really in there.
