  • Back replacement?

Is it possible to get a new back? Possibly something titanium?

I have a long list of wonderful bodily aliments that i have gotten from my parents.

Acid Reflux Disease, a generally achy sore body and now it seems as i have arthritis in my back.

I am working on going to see a new Dr because mine is a douche fag that does not seem to care enough to try and help me. So i am going to get a second opinion.

I am 23 years old and when i wake up in the morning i need to straighten out my back with my hands like a 60 yr old man. and if i sit w/o having been moving and exercising its like my back is locked in the sitting position.

Oddly enough constant movement and motion and work makes everything feel better. if i get up from bed and start walking and moving and bending, lifting, within 25 to 30 mins i can bend over and grab my toes. its only these times like this week when i dont have to work and i am being lazy that my back hurts this badly.

Has anyone ever had a similar symptom where activity makes pain in the back/hips go away?

Its bad enough that my parents feel bad that we've got crappy genes cause they see what i go through every day.

I also need constant lumbar support when sitting in a car or chair.

Ive done that before, It was great for that day of the visit, by the next morning it was all screwy again. I actually gained about 1/2 in in height too after a correction and i felt great but cannot afford 3 plus visits a week.

My dr wants me to go back to PT but i dont want to as i know that if i keep exercising and moving i dont hurt but i cant always be doing that so i want to go to a specialist to find out when it hurts when i dont move and if it can be fixed w/o putting me out of work for 6 months plus.

Exercise and eat right to build muscle. Best advice I can give. If its a genetic thing, you'll fight it the rest of your life and muscle will help - the stronger they are, the more support they can provide.

You might also want to try different sleeping arrangements - soft bed vs firm bed....or recliner. Your mattress is a lot like your shoes - you spend a good bit of your life in/on them....get the best and most comfortable ones you can.

Said back issues are why I sleep like shit, when I lay down to sleep and for the first hour or so after I wake up my neck is terribly stiff and sore, as soon as I stand up and get moving it goes away. I don't have health insurance so for awhile it's just been the way I live.

hey man with my muscular dystrophy i have a acquired a thinning disc in my back and fissett syndrome which is basically just damaged nerves on my spine. i have gone and gotten cortisone shots in my spine and it has helped but overall i just do really extensive stretching. they are called Active Isolated Stretches. my old trainer was a marine for 11 years and had done them in the service, he gave them to me and i have never felt better in my life now that i do them regularly. i suggest you look them up and do them every days. it helps to keep your muscles and joint in order

I streach daily. And i gota a nice Hott Chick for the massages too. My mattress is only a few yers old, its a med, but i think that may be part of the issue.

I have been taking Prilosec OTC for a few years now if i take it daily i am good to go but if i miss a day i am screwed usually. I have to go get checked for scaring soon. Both my parents have had to get checked and my dad had some minor issues (he has Barrets esophagus) so i figure i should get checked.

There was a recent report on acid reflux medications but I'm not sure if prilosec was one of concern. Basically, it sounded like continual use of the medications increased the risk of bone fractures.

I used to eat zantac like candy but I changed my diet and quit drinking soda in large quantities, or anything else that seemed to give me acid problems, and I've been trouble free for a couple years now.

                              Good luck
