  • Sad day in America

Does anyone else feel that yesterday was a sad day? I'm talking about General Motors. How did GM go from having Caddy, Pontiac, Olds, GMC, Chevrolet, Buick, Hummer to being bankrupt? My dad and I were talking about it and we have gone from being #1 in the world to filing for bankruptcy? With all the pride that we have (or had) since 9-11, it seems like not everyone cares that we got our spot bumped by fucking foreigners. It hurts my American pride to not be #1 anymore. I surely hope that we can bounce back from this spot in America.

How come everyone forgets these companies had these same problems in the past?

We have bailed them out before, and we did it again, but now since we have a socialist president, General Motors is now Government Motors.

Why did they lose all that money? How? I don't know, but they have lost it before, and they have lost it again. History Repeats itself.

I have never been a chevy fan but my dads 02 silverado 2500 HD 6.0 V8 has never needed anything more then normal maint and brakes since we bought it brand new. So i guess i cant complain too much.

Eventually they will all bounce back i hope.

            im with ya steve....

seeing a symbol for American pride like GM crumble to the ground is not just sad but depressing... I have always been a die hard chevy/GM fan, pretty much my life has revolved around them. i feel like seeing them file for bankruptcy is a major point in time for me to see wat is wrong with todays economy. i really hope that now the company is majority owned by the government, the jack asses in charge will get there head on strait and have some pressure to get some amazing vehicles again.

A professor of mine told us a story once in class about how he used to work for GM and how they had a very good program for electric car going on. basicly he was an engineer working with a team to make an electric car the people would love and would be a revolutionary step for vehicles in general. well they made a hundred prototypes and sent them out to random people to try. everyone loved them they were great in almost every category. then GM fired all the team members and took all the cars back and put them in a field where they supposedly sit today....

Maybe now they will look into some better ideas and actually be an "American revolution"

I also agree. I love chevy and plan on owning several more in my lifetime. I'm pretty sad that they are bankrupt, they were actually making some good stuff.

i love my chevy/gm, although if by their own fault they find themselves going bankrupt, i am not gonna sympathize with a company who lost however many gajillions of dollars in so many months.

Chevy , but you gotta change if you wanna survive nowadays

It's more dissapointing than anything to me. I've been a diehard chevy guy since I came out of the womb.
