I would argue that it's not really bread meat bread... Its just rounded bread with meat resting on it, rather than between it.

If you keep the bun intact and it wraps around the weiner that would mean that a sub cannot be a sandwich. Never seen Subway cut a roll all the way through. Then again they just got caught selling tuna that aint tuna soooo?
