  • Parts cleaning/hot tanks

Anyone have a place or know of a place they trust that'll clean some heads and a block? No place I've called will hot tank anything anymore, something with EPA bullshit. block and heads are stripped already, just would rather not spend forever doing it by hand, plus I can't get into the coolant passages.

You could find someone with an ultrasonic tank big enough for the heads or just use ZEP industrial purple in a spray bottle. Use it straight up without cutting it, it will tingle on bare skin and that's how you know it's working, spray it all over the thing and let it sit, then power wash it off and that shit will make the heads looks brand new.

Isn't that what you de-Rausch your engine bay with?

Try Kehl-Tech Performance in Northford. They've tanked a few heads and blocks for me in the past, it's been a few years though so they may fall into the EPA bullshit category too

Also try A&M Machine in Meriden.

Tried, neither will tank and for the price I could have the block gold-plated...

I had some machine work done on a tractor crankshaft by a place in Mt. Vernon NY called Storm Crankshaft. I know they do hot tanking, they asked me why I didn't bring the whole engine block down with me lol. It'd be a solid ride out there, but they were super knowledgeable/helpful and gave me a break for paying cash.
