Abandoned places

Anyone know any good abandoned urban decay type stuff in CT? The catch for what I am looking for is you need to be able to get a car to it. CAR..not jeep

Looking for some good shooting locations for an upcoming project, have a few scoped but could use the knowledge of the committee

Come to Graystone in NJ. it's an old mental hospital by me. Arthurs is close,so we can get steak after.

Graystone is awesome but its very difficult to get close to the old buildings from what I remember. But hey, maybe if you talked to security they would let you take pics. Also in Verona, NJ is the Overbrook Asylum (or Essex county sanatorium). I used to live a couple blocks away and ran on the multi use path that cuts through the grounds. No gates, still paved

Don't follow abandoned CT unless you want to see empty Friendlys restaurants and other closed buildings that are more "unsold" than "abandoned."

I saw you guys made it to American Brass. That's probably my best suggestion, but difficult to get in due to the state foreclosing on it and the live RR tracks that run through it. Lol

Got caught by security but put on my PR face and met with the plant manager as he passed through and exchanged numbers. that place is absolutely insane. a dreamland for photographers

Indeed. I had mentioned a few spots worth checking out to Mike. It sounds like you guys weren't able to get to the building I was referring to though. I met another photographer in there one time...or saw? I can't really recall if I spoke to him. At any rate, it's cool if you can snap some more pictures. I think they're tearing the place down and it would be really awesome to have some pictures to look back at once it's turned into some new housing projects.
