I know the feeling. Only owed them $1700 after doing my taxes, but that was after I made an extra payment of $5k in September since I owed almost $7k last year.

Fact. And only about 20% of their employees actually know what going on the other 80% are useless

Tip of the day. When dealing with the IRS always opt to speak with a Spanish speaking individual. Why? because they are always more knowledgeable about processes and typically speak better English then the other agents! Oh and shorter wait times!!!
Also when dealing with the IRS ask the persons location. If it is Georgia or Tennessee hang up and get someone on the east or west coast. All the folk down there are still upset about the war and think us yankees make too much money (they are really just to stupid to understand the fluctuation of the dollar from state to state.)
