  • Who's good at some tranny work?

Working on an LS swap into my XJ. Told my buddy the engine guy to just make me a real race car motor that's going to be horrible to drive on the road.... So i can drive it on the road a lot. The 5.3 came with a 4L60e and it's not going to holdup to the power the motor should be making with out some serious upgrades. So, I picked up a 4L80E.

The guy I've used before is retired and doesn't take on anymore work. Anyone from the forum here good with these or have gone through a few already? Not looking for anything crazy, just look inside, mahbe a simple shift kit and filter change.

No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.

how are you going to control it?
Are you going to run a manual valve body? You can probably do that yourself.

Your not going to break any transmission until your running so I would save your money and time run it stock and upgrade later.
I will probably do pretty well stock. Maybe the small common upgrades I think the Reverse bands like to wear fast I don't know what else.
