      $7k for something you:

      A) Can't ride on
      B) Can't put in your car

      ???

For 7,000, you could have an arsenal of some amazing RC cars or an actual 4x4 that will drive you to the trails and won't need a recharge every 3 hours.

this is a lot like the argument people make that says

"Why buy an airsoft gun when you can buy a real gun"

The RC car isnt meant for a replacement for a real car, or vice versa. Different roles entirely.

With that said, I'd never spend 7k on one...but I can see why hardcore hobbyists would

That thing is ridiculously large. Holy sheet.

I had to laugh at the website though while viewing that; "Remember! Shipping is only $4.95!" Oh gee thanks. Whats another $5 when im spending $7k?

Your analogy is perfect. Airsoft guns are toys, real guns are not. RC cars are toys, Jeeps are not.

But that thing is so cumbersome and defeats the transportability and ease of use positives of the 1:10 scale guys. It's like an airsoft gun that is real gun weight, that shoots at real gun FPS... you can't really use it and keep friends.

Having had airsoft and RC Crawlers, I know the reason why you would buy something so like those. But that thing seems like just an attempt to go big, for the sake of big.

It just seems out of spirit with the RC idea.

That thing is bad ass. But the size is weird, shit seems just go a little bigger so you can RC it or a kid can drive it.

I like the air soft reference.

No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.
