I think he meant to say that cars are becoming increasingly harder to work on. It's an extremely bad article as it, like you said, fails to make any sort of valid point and reinforce it. All it does is bash capitalism and current car manufacturers as well as society while seemingly forgetting to actually tell us why they are bad with a coherent thought.
