    UPGRADES!

I got all the parts in I wanted, and Thursday night installed my BEC, a 2" LED Light bar on my front bumper, along with 2 LEDs in the bumper itself, and also added two rock lights to my inner front fenders, which are on their own independent switch.

Pics or it didnt happen you say?

    Wire chaos!

The rock light switch, mounted in the dash above the center console.

Front lights all wired up and powered.

The rock lights in the fenders.

Im pretty proud of what I've done to it so far.

    QFT, he does.

That's also why my Wraith went flying off the giant rock onto the rocks below.

In other news, I got hex hubs and new hex-hub-friendly wheels today, along with finally getting a BEC which I will install in the next couple of days. Also have a 2" LED light bar coming which will go on my spiffy aftermarket bumper, and a bunch of other individual LEDs which i will use as I see fit; rock lights, and add two more to my bumper.

    Oh yes.... It flew.

    Landing? Not so well.

    BORKED

I was able to drive it away as you can see, only cosmetic damage. Joe's friend has a slow-motion version of my jump and tumble.

Joe Nitro didn't make it and proceeded to bounce down the aggro crag.

I attempted it with a busted steering servo and was, in fact, successful.

Then, finally, Brian attempted and well... That's not good.

Yes, that ones mine. My wheel started walking out, and Phil and I both instantly thought of you Fred.

Long story short, I over tightened the nut on the wheel last night, and actually PULLED the bearings out of the end of the axle. Its fixed now though.

Except for the tiny pin... Dunno what the hell happened to that little dude.

I mean thats the same dealio on the mini rock crawler, and I never stripped out a horn or box, or blasted the mounts.

Could literally just be a weight thing

The way the wraith is designed, the stock steering servo takes a lot of abuse because its right up there in front and not tucked away in the middle of the rig as well as having a direct one link connection to the knuckle like a real solid axle steering setup. It's akin to smashing your front tire of your XJ into a rock and your steerin box gets pushed the through the unibody except in the wraith the aluminum gears just get destroyed inside because the steering servo doesnt move. Lol

    I enjoy this thread.

Take toy, break toy and attempt to upgrade into not-a-toy.

This is the definition of "hobby," so thank you all for contributing.

On an odd note: I used to beat/roll/throw/jump the shit out of my Losi MRC and never had any of the issues you guys are having. Might just be purely a mass thing, but seems like having to upgrade/replace all these internals would cause me to blow an o-ring, like out my butt.
