  • Front driveline question?

Ok guys, have a doozy for ya.
My front output on the 207 blew the fuck up,
Need to replace it. Got a front Double cardan ( I think ...) driveshaft that a
    SHOULD be the right length...
But I have no idea what kind of TC output yoke to get to match.
I know it needs to be 26 spline that much is sure,
But I am unsure as to whether or not I need a flanged yoke or whatever.
So I need to get this

    To fit to this..... Somehow...

    Any ideas?

i currently dont need an SYE, if I had a 231 I would.
Im just trying to do this cheap as possible, fast as possible.
i dont have the time or money or space to do a full swap,
im pretty restricted to what i can do since i need the car the next day as its my only vehicle

          What vehicle is this on?

Measure the bolt pattern of that flange the CV is bolted to and fine a double cardan flange to match? That looks like this:

          97 XJ.

Talk to XJ1701, he's got an 84 and is doing the same thing.

It's not as simple as swapping cases on 84-86... Front and rear driveshafts have to be swapped and the input shaft of the 231 needs to be replaced.

                  Exactly.
I'd also need to get a new rear driveshaft as its longer then a 4.0 I believe. Once again bringing the issue of needing it done in a night since I work 7days a week and this is my work truck/DD

That looks to be kind of what I need, except that flange isn't sticking out past the TC, it's on it. This is for an 84 XJ waggy with a 207. I can't find any 231 yoke with a flange on it, been searching for days

That's a pic of a 231 SYE I just used as an example.

So you would need to disassemble the double cardon on the new shaft you have and reassemble with the adapter that mates to a flange, like the shaft shown in the picture.

But first, you have to identify what the bolt pattern on your case flange is and try to find the right adapter for the shaft. Such an adapter may not exist, just something to look into.
