  • Al Sharpton's Chicago Town Hall Erupts into Revolt -

    - Against Machine Politics.

This is my favorite kind of news story.

On Thursday, a town hall meeting hosted by Al Sharpton and the National Action Network to address gun violence exploded into a revolt against “Chicago Machine” politics, Mayor Rahm Emanuel, and the aldermen in City Hall, with panel and audience members calling to vote out their elected officials.

One 82-year-old preacher even called for “Tea Party” style meetings in some of Chicago’s south side communities such as Altgeld Gardens and Trumbull Park.
    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/Jzo9lCBYzA4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

While the stated goal for Sharpton was to bring the many different groups together to discuss solutions to the city’s violence epidemic, he may not have gotten the types of responses he was looking for. Calls for more gun control laws and getting guns off the streets were nonexistent and not mentioned by residents throughout the session.

Instead, attendees offered solutions addressing the problems facing their community as a whole rather than just taking on “gun violence” itself. Audience members addressed the need for jobs and solving the foreclosure crisis plaguing Chicago’s south and west sides. Perhaps the loudest message—and one that Reverend Al or the Chicago media have yet to report on—echoed by several different people in attendance as well as panel members was that it is time for the black community to start voting differently.

McKinley told the room, “Stop blaming just anybody for the violence in the city of Chicago. Blame the right people, not just white people, but the right people. Because it’s not just white folks a part of this, but it is on the fifth floor. The fifth floor took your schools, the fifth floor just took your jobs that he said that he gave to the ex-offender… and every single alderman was a part of this criminal process.”

McKinley called on President Obama to help the grassroots by discontinuing aid and government grants that go through Chicago’s political machine to “name-brand-blue-ribbon-negro-organizations” such as the NAACP and Urban League. McKinley told Breitbart News those groups “are poverty pimps, and are part of the problem and not the solution.”
Do you think this will change anything? On top of this, the Chief of Police in Chicago has radically changed his stance on gun control, stating that banning firearm sales in the city and the right to carry a firearm does not stop crimes. Now, you have the intellectual blacks around the city changing their tune because they realize they are all part of a machine that keeps them impoverished and that keeps them falling back on crime just to make a few bucks.

Our movement is growing. The people, their eyes are opening. They're seeing that politicians as a whole are disconnected from the people and that their intentions lie elsewhere.

    The revolution, she's a coming.

I would agree but disagree. If anyone has read the book "The Turner Diaries" I agree with that theory. That as long as the chain of slavery is applied slowly link by link instead of all at once than a revolution may not occur until it is too late. Most Americans won't do much as long as they get their Starbucks, their belly stays full and the tv keeps filling their head with bullshit about fake ass celebrities and stupid fucking bullshit news. They could care less about "Freedom" because they would rather be mentally enslaved to the 9-5 and never have to think for themselves for one single second because when you have heated seats, a 5 bedroom house, a full fridge and whatever drugs your doctor gives you for depression/anxiety you'll be fine, and if you're not they have plenty of Prozac to go around. ONE NATION WITH CHEMICAL DEPENDENCE FOR ALL!!!!!

The difference here is that the people of Chicago have essentially nothing to lose anymore. They don't have a fancy house, a 9-5 job, or steady income, they have 15 kids from 12 different relationships, their shitty fucking churches that feed them more garbage and rapidly increasing crime and violence in their neighborhoods. They keep hoping that Democratic leaders will pull them from the slump when they blatantly haven't.

You're generalizing about white suburbia, not about poor inner city which is what the article is about.

You'd be surprised... As soon as people can't afford the things they once could it'll go down. The winds of change are already present, as exemplified by the massive growing libertarian movement.

Sorry to say it, but Americans may be dumb, but there are enough that aren't dumb enough to sit around any longer. The next twenty years will be a pivotal point in american history

Yeah I got way off-topik. But, don't you think Sharpton and his buddies will be able to calm them down and shit? Or create something else to distract them from the real problem.

I agree Zullock, more and more people are realizing what has been done to them. I just hope the liberty tree is going to be thirsty sooner.

In the words of Trail park superviser Jim Lahey "Do you know what a Shit Barometer is, boy?

Measures the Shit Pressure in the air. When the Barometer rises, and you'll feel it too, your ears will implode with the Shit Pressure. I tried to warn you, but you picked the wrong side! Beware, the Shit Winds are a-comin'!!!"
