  • Need Opinions.

    Looking for another project.

Many of you might remember my ordeal in Berlin, New York. Long story short, some guy picked me up off the side of the road and brought me to his private junkyard.

I snapped some pictures and after getting home i really really liked one of the cars i took a picture of.

After doing some research and asking a bunch of online forums i found out the vehicle is called a "Boonie Bug".

There's not much information on them at all. They seem super rare.

I think the thing would make for a totally badass daily driver. (24 MPGS!) I think you would turn some serious heads with this fucker.

Anyways, i'm going to call the guy tomorrow and tell him instead of letting it rot into the ground i'd be interested in buying it and fixing it up, restoring it, and driving it around. I'd then hope he'd be willing to part with it for a reasonable price.

    What do you guys think?
    What would you offer?

Picture Related. First picture is the one i want to buy, second is a google picture.

Maybe you can sell me another leaking axle for it.

That's my thinking. You'd turn some serious heads cruising around with that thing.

No idea. All I know about it is what you can see in the pictures. I was too dumb to inspect it when I was standing next to it.

I'd assume the engine is gummed the fuck up and in need of a rebuild. I'd repaint but not sure what color. I don't want a professional because I want it to look like it belongs.

I'm not sure. Hope the first option though.

no more than a grand, pick it up for a project.

From all the reading, they really aren't worth much of anything because they were all just built by some dude in his garage.
No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.
