Today, people across the nation are holding a "Starbucks Appreciation Day" in which you are encouraged to openly carry when you go to Starbucks and get your double mocha venti latte today in support of their stance on guns.

I for one was surprised a company as "hip" and "earthy" as Starbucks would even bother to take a stance on the issue. Here's some quotes from their spokesperson:

The political, policy and legal debates around these issues belong in the legislatures and courts, not in our stores. In communities that permit open carry, we abide by local laws. Where these laws don't exist, openly carrying weapons in our stores is prohibited.

Sounds like a perfectly logical position to take. Of course people are wildly upset that Starbucks refuses to ban weapons in its stores, so Kudos for them for standing up for reason.

They are just following the local laws where their stores are. In reality they are just refusing to stay out of the gun debate, not saying yes or no.
