  • Some Uplifting Stats

CT has 3 of the 25 most dangerous cities as measured in violent crime per capita

    - Bridgeport, New Haven, & Hartford

Fairfield County has the highest percentage of people ages 25-29 living at home

    - 34%, national average is 24%

CT has 2 of the 20 dirtiest cities in America

    - Bridgeport (4) and New Haven (7)

CT ranked last in terms of economic growth, only state to contract actually

The Bridgeport-Stamford metro area is the worst place in the nation to retire

Bridgeport has the same income inequality level as Bangkok and the state as a whole is #2 behind New York

CT ranks last in terms of government credit quality

CT has the third highest tax burden in the nation

but hey, Miss CT won the Miss USA pageant, so at least we have that going for us

As horrible as Bridgeport is, this is what surprises me the least. This is entirely true.

        CT fucking sucks.

And yeah, the whole 'still living at home' thing doesn't surprise me at all. With the absurdly high rental rates and taxes in Fairfield and the surrounding area, no one 25-30 can afford to rent on their own without roomates if they make less than $15 an hour.

They should split Connecticut into east Connecticut and west Connecticut and then see how those numbers work out..
