  • Autocross anyone?

A few months ago I bought this,

I know a few of you guys have autocrossed, what's required to participate? Would I need to be a member of a club?
Anyone interested in going out for a day and showing me the ropes? I'd like to get out and flog this thing

You don't need to be a member to do it, just costs 10 bucks more.

All you really need to do is pull floormats out, empty the trunk and interior, and go. People have rented Zipcars and raced.

There's a couple real nice Vettes that do it, they do really fucking well too. Come down to one of them in Fairfield, check the Fairfield County Sports Car Club website for the next one. And brig a helmet.

Seems easy enough, do you need to have a helmet that has any special rating or anything? With drag racing you have to have a snell approved rating within 5 years, anything like that?

On the fcscc website they are showing all points events, is that open to anybody?

              Snell within ten.

You can race the points events without being a member, your results just don't accumulate

CART is doing an autocross this weekend at Mohegan Sun. You dont need to be a member to race. Just show up at 8 am with your car and $35 cash. They have loner helmets if needed. Its a lot of fun. I go to all their events.

Damn! Thanks for the heads up but I've already got plans to head up to epping to watch the nhra nationals. I didn't know they held events at mohegan, that's a nice short 20 minute ride for me.

They have one more at Mohegan on July 7. Then the rest of them for this season are at Thompson. Here's the schedule for Cart and Fairfield cscc http://www.cartct.com/cart-schedule/
