  • Need a huge favor!!

    As some of you know, my XJ hasn't run in a long time. I am at a loss. I've tried and checked everything I know to do. Can someone that has an OBDII XJ please try something for me? Please?

    1. unplug your distributor and turn on the ignition. Does your CEL come on at all when keyed on? Yes or No? Plug back in.

    2. unplug your crank sensor, key on. Does your CEL go on at all when keyed on? Yes, no? Plug back in.

    3. unplug your coil, key on. Does your CEL go on at all when keyed on? Yes, no? plug back in.

    You may need to clear your codes if the CEL does actually come on.

    My issue is the computer is not waking up in my XJ and I can't figure out why. No CEL when I key on or ever for that matter. No spark, injector pulse, fuel pump and cooling fan run constant.

    Damn Dave, sucks you have all these bullshit problems with the XJ...I wish I could help out, but you know how that saying goes "My Jeep is so old..."

        for some odd reason im scared of renix era jeeps.. idk why
        98 xj, 4.0, AW4, 231 AA SYE, 4.5"RE/RC, CA drop brackets, 33s, and some other stuff

                    Wire from ASD/Fan relay to A22 pin on C1 connector of the PCM had a break in it. Would get power but when there was an amp load it would drop. I found it checking the continuity from the power distribution block to the PCM. So happy. Fired right up!
