All of these polls have me thinking about what my next car should be. Hopefully within the next year I am going to be getting rid of the Corolla and maybe the Jeep along with it. If I do just the Corolla, my thoughts have been: Subaru Legacy, Subaru Impreza, Acura TSX, Mazda 3 or 6. My thinking behind these choices have been relatively fun to drive cars, but still reasonable on gas.

If I do get rid of the Jeep too, I've also thought about just getting a 2010+ Grand Cherokee. I figure not have the expense of maintaining two cars will balance out the gas mileage and I'll have something I like for everyday that replaces the XJ.

What else should I be looking at

the TSX and TL's are really nice. the only real reason to buy a subaru is the awd if you deem it a necessity. i find the mazdas ugly and cheap interiors but you may like them. looking for brand new? used? price range?

Looking used with probably a max of up to $17k. I prefer the first gen TSX but test drove one with the navigation and it was so ugly and outdated so would love to find a non nav one. On the fence about looking at the newer gen.

Looking at the subarus, I'd like to find a 06-07(not sure the whole range on that body style) legacy with the leather. If I looked at the Mazdas I'd want to find a leather interior one as well.

I really like the Legacy of that gen.

The amount of rust I see on newer some newer Mazdas bothers me a bit. Not that Subaru is perfect in that regard either, but they're definitely not as bad.

                      if it helps

                      05-07

                      08-09

for a regular one both body styles would be in your price range, for a gt the 08-09 would start getting into the 20's depending on condition/mileage

                        not true at all

they are 15-18 all day long in the used market for mileage ranging from 50k to 80k. they go over of course, but i wouldnt call 15-18 rare at all for them, even in spectacular condition.

i searched every day like a fiend for a couple months. 08-09 GTs themselves a little hard to come by in general however

Hey i resent that mazda comment, but yeah the interior is cheap shit, and things that normally work in cars lack, like no heat for the first 30 minutes, and then inly warm air after ( which is normal for a mazda 6)

But dont tell me there all bad looking
