  • How fast do you drive?

On average, commuting around on a daily basis, if you were to look down about how fast would you be going?

After you vote, post what vehicle you drive the most and what has the largest factor on how fast you normally drive. (ie. vehicle constraignts, fuel cost, timliness, etc.)

65-75. ZJ gets more abysmal fuel mileage than normal if I go any faster, and it seems to be the sweet spot between engine speed and gearing and all that.

This is the reason i ask, it seems i'm always pushing from 80-90 in my truck.

Whenever i'd drive the charger to and from work i'd stay between 90-110.

(I see very little traffic in my commute)

I was wondering if i was the only one who changed the way they drove according to the vehicle they were in.

65-75 for me. Two reasons...one, because the TJ really doesn't like going much faster with 4:11 gears, and two, because I have been in way too much trouble with the police to speed much...after I got arrested once, it was the final wake up call.

If I'm in my trans am, I'll rip it up to 130+ once in a while, but I mostly drive that car normally around town and on the highway too.

I commute the parkway every morning to Orange averaging 70-80mph in the corolla. Whenever I take my wife's rogue I drive about the same.

If I take the Jeep lately I've been keeping it closer to 65-70 but that's probably more to me procrastinating fixing the front end.

you loose your license over 85 so wouldn't do that.

I drive a stock XJ and drive with traffic in the fast lane.

65-75, typically the jeep cruises well at these speeds but theres a notch in the 80mph range that sits really well too so its a toss up i suppose. usually around 75 when im in the bird

I drive way too fast weaving through traffic all day. The work van only goes 90. The fusion usually sees 10-20 over the limit but I loathe traffic and want to get to my destination

Under 75. 70 or less means 20+ mpg on the highway easily, but above that it drops fast.

This. By the time my Jeep gets to 65-70, it's time to get off the highway.

Usually right about the 75-80 mark when commuting to work. If I'm not in a rush to go anywhere usually back it down to 65-70.
When in the Wrx I try to keep it 70 or so, I only get 18mpg average with the short ratio 6 speed. The BRZ happily gets 28 mpg at 80ish.

really depends on what Im driving. Most of the time its around 70-75.
When I commuted to enfield everyday I was so sick of being on the roads I usually cruised around 80. Especially when I was daily driving a grand national.
In my dode I usually ran 75-80 with the 35's on it because it was happy there, but with 32's I would run around 70. (same RPM)
