Im guessing they got the different 4x4 modes idea from land rover because they have been doing that for awhile i believe. Land rover has like hill descent mode, mud mode, and crawling/rock mode or something.

i'll stick with the 2wd and 4wd modes. whos to say when you get into muddy rocky terrain which setting to turn it to. i'd have to stop mid climb and read the owners manual or possibly call the dealer for insight. i wouldn't want to void the warranty for being in muddy terrain while having the vehicle in rock mode
