making a tubular magazine.

How feasible is this?

ive got a Glenfield Model 75, short barrel 9+1 tube fed. cannot find that tube anywhere after one of my brothers friends borrowed the 22 and lost it. how difficult would it be to buy a piece of brass or aluminium tube along with the rest of the components for it? called natchez and brownells and apparently they are pretty much never expected to get that part back because its an obsolete/discontinued rifle. even called Marlin direct(a while ago) and they said they wont be making any more.

Try them first. They aren't hard to make unless you either have a piece of brass that is already to the dimensions or have a drill bit that's 2 feet long.

after the holidays im going to call Jacks. heard a lot of good from them. numrich is out of stock online but i sent them an email concerning it as well as brownells just for good measure. once again holiday season so not expecting much anytime soon. who the hell has a drill bit 2 feet long?

I dunno, but you're better off finding a piece of brass with the correct inside diameter and then lathing down the outside diameter to fit into the magazine tube, then the other parts like the cap and follower can be made...but then you have to either make your own spring, or once again find a spring that is that long.

well i can get the tube for about 13 bucks. and some of the other tube assembly pieces. along with that but the problem is no one offers anything for the short version so if i get the tube that i can order now its a 16 3/4" tube so id have to cut off 6 3/4" which isnt a problem but at that point it MUST work because i really dont wanna put an assload of money into this.

Buy a few of them and have them as spares, then modify one for fit your gun.

Ian, jims rc has straight tubular brass, cheap, might be feasible, no lathe though, but we will figure it out, id rather find one for 13 bucks though

Funny story....loaned the gun to my brother for the afternoon so he could go shooting with another friend. And my brother let his friend use MY gun, now him and that kid don't talk and my brother has no money so guess who has to pay for the parts lol.....whatever though. Live and learn I suppose.
