Carfax favor?

Anyone have access to carfax for free? I want to run a vin # and didn't realize it's $40 for a one time carfax! That's a little steep, I assumed it would be about 10 bucks.

Lol sorta, just for the winter. The day that guy calls about the comanche I'm gonna be left without a 4x4 so I've been looking. Really need something so I can make it to work in a blizzard just in case. This just popped up for a really good price but it sounds sketchy so I'm wondering if it was stolen lol

Just keep on mind that carfax only tells you what has been reported to carfax. A lot of stuff doesn't end up on there.

good advice, my old silverado i totalled the front end and rebuilt it, carfax was clean . usually only stuff carfax shows is dealer service records if they use it, registration's/updates etc
